4th Annual RC SELPA Mental Health Symposium: Mental Health Matters

"Trauma-informed school" is not synonymous with "Healing-centered school". Youth who experience chronic stress and trauma need integrated school-community support that doesn't recognize boundaries or a time card. Healing requires a community that is aware, present, willing and interconnected. This session will share student stress data, available evaluation tools, and a trauma response framework for assisting students with acute stress responses.

Outcomes:
This session will help participants learn how to recognize signs of acute student stress and trauma; learn about the Comprehensive Assessment of Student Stress (CASS), a new measure of student wellness, socioemotional distress, trauma assessment, and intervention monitoring; and learn how to respond to acute student stress and trauma responses in real time.
